Support Comprehensive Sex Education in PA!
Sexual health is an important component of a person’s overall health and well-being. Yet, Pennsylvania lacks statewide standards requiring schools to teach sex education curriculum beyond basic information about HIV.
AccessMatters is working to change that. As a part of the Pennsylvania Coalition for Sex Ed (PACSE), we have been working to pass legislation that would establish standards for sexual health education in Pennsylvania schools. We believe that all schools in the Commonwealth should be required to provide sex education and information that is unbiased, comprehensive, medically-accurate, and age-appropriate.
Comprehensive sex education includes information on sexuality, healthy relationships, consent, anatomy and puberty, STIs, and pregnancy. This type of curriculum covers information on all FDA-approved contraception and all pregnancy options; and FDA-approved medication for STIs and HIV, such as pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) - medications which can prevent HIV. Click here for more information on comprehensive sex education.
Everyone deserves to have access to unbiased information to help them make the best decisions for themselves about their health - regardless of who their teacher is or what school they attend.
Sign the petition today to help support AccessMatters' future efforts to promote sex education throughout the state of Pennsylvania and the sexual health programs we currently offer.
Thank you for your support as we collectively work to ensure youth have access to sexual and reproductive health.
